Dr. Rushikesh Naigaonkar is a leading Vitreo-Retina Surgeon with over two decades of experience in advanced retinal surgery and comprehensive ophthalmology. He currently serves as the Medical Director & Head of Vitreo-Retina Services at Shri Ganapati Netralaya, Jalna, and Principal of Mahyco Research Foundation Trust's Shri Ganapati Netralaya College of Optometry. He has successfully performed more than 25,000 complex vitreo-retinal surgeries and is among the few retinal surgeons in India performing advanced Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) surgeries. He was also among the first surgeons globally to perform Subretinal RPE Transplant for Dry Age-Related Macular Degeneration. Apart from clinical excellence, he actively contributes to research, medical education, public health initiatives, and AI-based innovations in ophthalmology.
